Guy's-Have my trany torn apart to update to a rxt clutch, and I have a alum.flywheel with a steel insert,So I took my flywheel to several machine shops to get it re-surfaced and they looked at my like I had three eyes on my face,DO i have to replace the steel insert???? why can't they resurface the steel insert???? Need someone who has gone thru this before--Thanks Steve

Yes, it can be machined AFAIK but I've learned that skill levels and equipment varies greatly from shop to shop. I'd say take it elsewhere and try again.
