I have a column that I was told was supposed to be a power steering column from an A-body. I decided I would restore it so I disassembled it and in the process I thought the shaft and tube/housing looked a little short so I compared it to the original column from my 69 Dart and another column I have that I know is from a 70 Dart. It turns out the steering shaft (which is not collapsed) and the tube/housing are both shorter than those of my 69 & 70 Dart columns. I measured the shaft and it is 35 1/2" long. The shafts in the other two columns are approx. 38" long. The column in question is a 70 or later type column as it has the ignition switch in the column and the flasher switch as well. Does anyone have an idea what car would use a column with a 35 1/2" steering shaft? Because it is shorter I have no use for it now so I'd like to figure out what it is for so I can sell it.
