A real oil pressure gauge , with direct copper line to the engine . Neighbors are white collar types with modern cars . Not mechanical minded from what I know of them .

Here are three gauges that I added to my truck . Voltage , water temperature and oil pressure .

Stewart Warner, good gauge. Anyway, I was thinking there was a chance it may be some form of murphy switch.........even though I know you have spark, which overrides the theory!

Pump gas peddle twice & hold down to the floor & then turn the key to the right for about 30 seconds . I have not removed the valve covers , yet . Let me get the other suggestions above , done & see where it stands . I will have to order gaskets before I remove the covers .
you can reuse the valve cover gaskets over and over.. just get the covers off an inspect the valve gear..... spin all the pusrods that are not tight to spin and then crank it over alittle bit till you can spin the other s left.. you are looking to see if any pushrods are bent or popped out of there sockets and or lifters, has to be a reason why you only have 60# compression. I would have pulled the covers off and looked at valve gear at first problem of starting. hope you are not just hosing all of us for days on end.

we have to know if the valve gear is all moving the way it should .. could be you broke the cam and or all the cam lobes are ground down to nothing that would explain alot of things

this is all a buncha hoo-haw and malarkey. i'm all for diagnostic and taking the steps to insure correct/good parts but methinks we be well past that at this juncture.

time to just start takin' crap apart.

yoink the valve covers and bar the damn thing over and see what's up with the valve train. who cares if you don't have gaskets, it's not like it's runnin' anyway.

that right there will answer a whole slew of questions.

We are not being played. He is 77 ******* years old! I know he is not moving as fast as me. I’m good with that. But I would have looked visually at mechanical a while back.

The small worry in the back of my mind is this is dan the man playin us. But since he's produced pictures and all, I think that's a slim possibility.

And still driving two classics! I want to be that capable and lucky.

hello.......... op hasn't provided any videos or internal pics of engine at all ... except for one overall pic of engine from pass side . that's it.
he answers our quest with deception .. like when I asked to see the valve gear and he say's ill need to get vc gaskets first and the same thing about the compression gauge when he can rent one from any parts store or buy one at harbor freight. stall stall stall with the question we ask.
something just doesn't click about this post

Well , if you guys hate me , I can take a hint and get lost !!!!!!!!!!! I am not screwing over anyone !!!!!!!!!!!! If I was an ace mechanic you would never have heard from me .

" eash 340 " sent me a message Sunday & said he had the same problem . Needed a distributor cap & rotor & that fixed his problem .

Could not do anything on Monday because it was pouring down rain all day . However , I got the cap , rotor , gas filter & a vacuum gauge this morning . It is cold & windy here , but I got the cap & rotor changed . I could not believe it fired right up . Ran a little rough to start with , but smoothed out once it warmed up . Might as well change out the new coil when it warms up some . Got new plug wires on the way as well .

Maybe best to scrap the car next time & I wont bother anyone .

Many thanks to " eash 340 " and " Dana67Dart " for their help off line . Both thought it was something simple .

Yep never trust a clamp on spark tester. It is odd that you pulled the plugs and visually saw good spark. Maybe it just wasn't good enough. My girlfriend had a fifth avenue some 30 years ago that was a beautiful car that we got for a song because it overheated and warped the aluminum head. I got a new head from Don Lenz at the Watseka Mopar Dealer. When I reassembled everything I could not get the damn thing to start. I knew it did not have good fire but had good fuel. I brought number 1 up to TDC made sure the rotor was pointing at what I thought was number 1 on the cap. There was bussing under the cap and number one was not where I thought it was. Lesson learned!

Don’t let the few deter you from the majority. Most of us here are and were trying to help.

Glad you got it fixed, considering it is your daily driver.

A real spark tester would have found that
Sometimes spark just isn't enough
Glad you got it .....

Yeah, it can be such a tiny carbon track, like a super sharp pencil finely run down the side....it can be crazy how easily it can put You dead in the water.
Don't let the rudeness dissuade You, some folks(bots?) get on here just to jerk around, it's given a few Members on here a quick 'trigger finger' on calling another one out.
You're always welcome here on FABO as far as I'm concerned, glad she's running again, peace!!!

Back again . Barracuda is running fine now !!!!!!! I appreciate all the help I received on this Forum . Got the compression & vacuum gauges now .

Now the other problem of broken windshield wiper bushings in my Dodge D-150 . The Barracuda is 10 years older than the truck , but still has the original bushings , if you can believe that . I think I need to address those bushings before they leave me stranded in the rain . I will try " Rain-X " , but the wipers have to work to pass Virginia State Inspection .
It took me all day to replace the bushings in the truck and I am not sure they will hold up . I was fighting that job all the way . I do not have the grip strength to install the bushings . Finally got them in with the help of silicone grease . Turned on the wipers & they popped out . So , grease is not the way to go . So , back to the drawing board . Cleaned the grease off & bought new bushings . I finally bought two six inch needle nose vise grip pliers . That helped on dry bushings . Still the bars look like they are off in the angle to each other . I have no idea how long they will last without popping out again ?????? Any suggestions are welcome . Surely the factory has some kind of tool for installing the wiper linkage bushings ?

They didn't have those plastic bushings back when your Barracuda was made. No mopars I have of that era had them anyway. Those plastic ones are always a pain to replace. I usually resort to channel lock pliers, one pair on each side of the bushing. Someone on here probably has a better way.

It couldn't hurt to spray a little chain lube on the though

Congrats on cuda fixed! Maybe start a new thread on your wiper bushings? It would get more looks. You are not alone in the bushings are SUPER tight. I read that some have tried soaking in hot water and have also poked a tiny hole to allow air to escape when squeezing together? Pics of bushings you're using?
