Just bought 65 barracuda with slant six and 4 speed. It has a holley carb and offenhouser intake . Did this come on slant sixs originally or did someone add this?
I have a 66 cuda sl6 4spd. I've added frt disks, bigger t-bars and an 8-1/4 rear axle, w/ a Mopar rear sway bar, and 14in Mustang painted Magnum 500 wheels. It's a kick in the a$$ to drive, wouldn't think of swapping in a v8, though I have plenty of parts to do that, if I wanted.Just bought 65 barracuda with slant six and 4 speed. I gotta call bs on that.4bbl is a terrible swap onto a stock slant. just sayin.....
I have had a couple 4bbl slants, one rock stock, the other with headers only. The only problem I've encountered was that the headered one's PO had installed a 750 dp. So first thing I did, was try a 625 I had from a 318, still too big. So I bought an electric choke carter 500. Just right. I think a 400 to 500 carb would be just fine on a stock sl6.To get the full benefits of a 4 bbl on a slant, you should upgrade the cam and exhaust to complement the 4 bbl intake...
Bring it. A slant 225 is going to pull ~250 max CFM and thats at ~5500 so your 4bbl may not even open the secondaries. Your going to be better off with a 2bbl and the money saved can be used for something worthwhile. a stock BBD would be totally adequate and far less $$$. You can throw a 6bbl on it but it wont make it any faster, but triple weber side drafts may make it quicker but they are measured differently.I gotta call bs on that.
