So I am looking for some knowledge on LED bulbs and the effects on the electrical system overall from someone who KNOWS their stuff.....

I would like to replace ALL the bulbs in the duster with LED replacement bulbs and from what I understand I will need to replace the flasher with a electronic LED flasher, I have shopped around at several places... Year one, Ron Francis, and Spaghetti engineering/Digi-tails and would like to give Spaghetti engineering my business but before I do I want to understand the ramifications of what I may be doing I really don't want to endanger the new wiring harnesses I purchased.

main reasons for doing it are lower bulb temps on all my NOS lenses and less draw on my charging system.

Let the enlightening begin.......

Subscribed I have zero knowledge on this subject. Hope to learn too.

I have the tail lights in my dart from Spaghetti Enginering and they work great. They sent me the LED flasher but I didn't need to use it. About a year after I bought them the drivers side had some problems. They had me send it to them fixed it and sent it back with no charge to me.

You would be wish to get in touch with slantsixdan... this is one of his areas of expertise.

You certainly won't damage anything by installing them. They take much less power to run, and cannot damage your car in any way. I have put LEDs in the turn signals front & rear, backup lights, and brake lights of my '69 Dart. And for some reason did not need to change the flasher unit either. I think the reason is because many of the old flashers in our cars have already been replaced by the newer solid-state flashers. I got my bulbs from superbrightleds.com

#1 dont buy any off ebay. they are junk.
#2 only 3 headlights are worth a damn. one type is $400 each. the other two are both made by GE. the GE's are like $200 each but the Truck-Lite you can get from Napa for about $149 each when they go on sale
#3 LED light is totally different, most of the ebay trash is the wrong frequency, and your car will not be seen properly at a distance.
#4 dash lights / interior etc they are fine but they dont dim properly unless you get the right kit. autometer sells a dimmer that works.

my car i'm running the truck-lite's up front, incandescent stock everywhere else except i have LED backup lights. dash/interior are some of each.

again, avoid the ebay junk. wont work as advertised.

I was looking at truck-lite the other day for headlights....

I have a question for you after seeing a few comments on a Harley Davidson forum.... some were reporting they had fitment issues at the rear of the bulb/bucket area... how did it go for you? hint hint.... pic, and what does the plug look like?

I started to hatch a plan to use this bulb housing...

Then this LED bulb...

Looks to me like the plug is the same as stock if not Ron Francis has some conversion plugs

For your Dash and interior lights I would check these guys out:
https://www.superbrightleds.com/

Again as stated: DO NOT buy cheap ebay junk. I made that mistake once, I bought cheap 168 wedge LED's on ebay they were dim and they sucked. I then bought some from superbrightleds, big difference as they are like 3-4 times brighter.

Yes, superbrightleds is the way to go!

blue440duster, I would just go with the trucklites. no fitment issue plug and play. oh yeah and they make huge difference at night

slantsixdan will shut you down fast, but you have to follow the money.....$149 sounds really expensive for headlights! Alternator power is almost free. Run relays and power your incandescent bulbs off the battery bus. They will be brighter than off the harness.

I agree, ask SlantSixDan

:happy1:

Incandescent bulbs have been around a long time. They work well if they are getting the voltage they need. The bulbs would be the last thing on my list to upgrade.
