I'm not a big believer in the "don't finance toys" mentality but do it responsibly. A quick cash type loan, no way, but a bank loan, possibly with a decent interest rate and if the purchase (title)could be held as collateral, which this car could probably not be held as collateral. In other words I would look for something better.

Yea there's no way I'd get money from a quick cash place and in order to get the money from the bank I'd have to get a personal loan as banks very seldom give money for cars over 7 years old. Another option would be my wife's sister lent us money for our honeymoon and interest was like 2-3%. I don't like borrowing from friends or family but that'd be the way to go as far as interest.

With such an outstanding outlook and support group as you just described above, I can see that you're going to find just the right car, and it'll be the right time and place for you to really enjoy it!! Good for you, and good luck in your search!!

Yea I'm definitely blessed! I've got great support from my family, my wife and here! The only support I don't have for my projects is from my wallet!! Lol!!

I wish I still had the little 66 I sold last year, I would love for you to have something like it to jump in and enjoy, and still be able to do things to!

That'd be nice too!! I'd love to get a solid 66-69 valiant roller and swap a srt4 into it!! That'd be a great dd I think!! Course not everyone would like it. But at least it'd still be Mopar powered!

Wise decision.

I am in a position where I counsel young couples on their finances. My counsel is this. Do not take on any debt that you can't walk away from where the pay out on the item financed will not satisfy the debt.

It can be disappointing for now, but much more rewarding when the project can be fully financed from beginning to end.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous, and debt free, new year.

Sounds like a good year to me!!! Thanks for the advice!

Just to follow up on my earlier post, The old saying that patience is a virtue is very true. If you take your time and kick back a few bucks something will always turn up and it will usually come when your not even looking for it. I recently bought a pretty nice 87 Corvette when I stopped at a yard sale to look at a guitar. I had no intention of buying a car that day but while I was looking at the guitar the guy having the yard sale mentioned that he had a Corvette he would sell so I was kind of listening to his story and trying to be polite and when I was ready to leave I figured I would ask a price and when he wanted too much I would thank him and politely decline and take off. But when he quoted that he would sell it for $2000. I had to go take a look. Now I'm a die hard Mopar guy but when we got there to check it out it turned out that it was pretty decent, shiny paint, 350 tuned port motor, ran and drove great. I had to buy it. That's usually how things turn up, when your talking to someone they will mention a car sitting in someones back yard or garage and you will get a decent deal on it. I could flip this Vette and probably make a couple of thousand if I wanted to and then I could drop that money back in the pot towards my next dream car(whatever it may be) and at 19 you have your whole life in front of you so you have plenty of time to happen across a car project. I'm from Kentucky too and I can tell you from experience that there is a car behind every barn and garage not to mention every sinkhole in this state and since we didn't use road salt a lot of them are still decent. Good luck in your quest.
