I purchased a new carpet for my 65 Dodge Dart convertible. I could use some tips on installation up and beyond the instructions that came with the carpet. How is the best way to knock out the seatbelt bolts and such without having the carpet pull or run? Any advice would be much appreciated.

As always thanks to all that read and respond.

Regards
Bill

Lay it out in the sun to make it more flexible. As for making the seat belt bolt holes, maybe try a soldering iron?? Trim a very little bit at a time. in this case better to measure twice and cut 3 or 4 times.

I always use an X-acto knife with a new, sharp blade. Works fine for me.

I remove the interior then reinstall all of the bolts. Then install the carpet and get busy with a carpet knife cutting the carpet around the heads of the bolts. Done in minutes.

I did a write up on carpet installation a year or so ago. I took detailed pictures, gave a list of all the tools needed with pictures of them, gave step by step info on what to do. do a search for it and you may find it to be useful. hope that helps
