New Charger

As soon as I saw 4 doors I was pissed!
Where's the Charger grill?
Haven't they learned anything from all the hype about the new Mustang??? Is Mustang going to have 4 doors????....NO!!!
I want it to look like the old Muscle cars but with newer features.
I think the new Mustang looks killer, great combo of old and new school technology, and in one of the car mags someone had made a new camaro that looked alot like the 67-69 ones that they were trying to get GM to consider building and if they did it would sell like crazy!, that thing was BAD! and I'm not a ford or chevy fan either, but a great looking car is a great looking car.
I wish we could get this right, a modern/old school looking Mopar would be worth the car payment especially if it came with a Hemi :thumrigh:
 
Why call it the Charger? It's a 300C with a different grille. Looks more like a Fury III to me. The charger never had four doors, and never should.

There slapping the legendary Charger name on an ugly a$$ car to try an make a few sales!
It's all about the $$$$ plain and simple,Daimler don't care about what real car guy's and gals want!
If they would get there heads out of there a$$e$ and look what Ford is doing with the Mustang maybe they would build a good looking 2-door Charger!
 
So much for the all New Charger. It's a 300 with an ugly grill. Ditch the back doors and come back and talk to us. Sorry, but I'm not impressed. Make the Nascar version design available and they'll have a hit.

If Ford can do it with the Mustang then Chrysler (opps Achtung Damlier) should be able to do it as well.

Sorry this looks like a loser to me. The only thing I see good about it is the 340 hemi. They slapped the Charger name on a 300 in hopes of selling them at a higher sticker price. I say BOOOOOOOOOOO

:evil: according to "Car and Driver" they are basing it on the Magnum platform, but gave it the Interpid rear. The proto-type actually had 4 doors, 2 regular and 2 suicide. They should have left well enough alone!

Well you are hearing differant then what i have been hearing, From what i hear the new Charger will be the 99 concept car. Also to be used in NASCAR as the replacement for the Intrepid. The "Charger" that everyone is calling the "Charger" is a what D/C will call the Inforcer, The sedan model of the Magnum.
But I could be wrong.....Hope Im not.
 
While I happen to agree that the sh*tbox that's being advertised as the new Charger is an ugly F`er, there is also talk about a coupe & a `vert, not to mention a 400+HP engine option on the SRT version.

Hang in there guys.... Maybe they'll surprise us with something neat after all. :tongue3:
 
Hot Rod magizine has a sketch of what they termed the new Charger due out in 2006 and it was sharp as hell. Saw it today inthe book store. Two door and rear wheel drive. If they make that thing, it will be a winner for sure. I'll order mine now.

While I don't have a pic to post, bet you'd all agree, it woould live up to the heritage and expectation we'd like to see for the new Charger. hopefully somneone has copy from the mag and can post it. My scanner tooka dump and no loner works

That's not what I saw. I got a glimpse of one I believe in car and driver. Was a 4 door in a magnum and 300 mixup. 2 thumbs down from me if they put the charger name on that 4 door non/charger!
 
I don't see what the problem with Damlier is :roll: The 300 is based on the Mercedes E-class, the Crossfire is a SLK, so they should have just used the CLK as a platform for the Charger. The CLK already has a 345hp version so you know it can handle the power. They already use the Mercedes transmisions in the Hemi cars so I think its just the so called statistitions and bean counters that are keeping us from having a cool new Charger. I also think they should come out with a supercharged version like in the Mercedes E-55. Then we could also have a true 12 second factory stock car. I driven the E-55 right off the showroom floor and it ran a 12.7 without anything done to it. So I think we loyal Mopar fans deserve the same performance in the Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. Okay I'll get off of my soap box now before it breaks from under me :D
 
Whitezombie, thats the one I saw. Suppsoe to be a 2006 model and 2 door RWD.
 
Hey, maybe we could send a petition and have them build something like that for us, I would much rather see the charger get 2 doors and POWER
 
Hey guys....check out the Dec issue of Mopar Muscle. Now they show the old proto type, BUT the caption at the bottom of the photo says "PREVIOUS". And it mentions that they will use that starting Daytona 2005, IF it passes safety tests. I think they could do better using that model!!!! Just my opinion!!!!!
