New Duster make over

-
I really enjoy builds like this.
It reminds me of my build in a way, just my car was a lot rougher.
The theme still is the same though.......
You will have a lot of fun with this car. The build 'em and drive 'em approach is a lot more fun than restos in my book.
I can't wait to see the stripes on it!

Here are a few pics after buffing. Not the best pics. but you will notice the reflection. The car has patina but looks way better now!I am waiting for the stripes to show up.I got the Cragar SS wheels and getting tires in the next day or two.

What price range do the shark tooth grills go for? I see one on Ebay for $1,500 right now. That is a buy it now though, not sold yet. There is also a Duster on ebay that has a shark tooth grill that goes with the auction.

Just wondering what they can be had for in decent condition.

Duster is looking great. Look forward to the shots after it is all done.

I cut the hole for the four speed tunnel. Then I primed and painted some spots on the floor. The interior will go back in tomorrow and the stripes will go on also.Tue new tires and the Cragar wheels will go on.

I don't think I ever saw an early Duster/Dart that didn't leak on the driver's side floor. I owned 2.

I know I put a post in this thread Jim  But it may have been in a different thread when you got it :toothy9: Looking great, and I must say you sure are moving forward in great fashion

The stripes look great.
Can't wait to see it with the new wheels and tires on it.
That'll make it pop!

OK 1 month and it 95% done.I need to paint the brake hubs yet.The wing and racing mirrors will have to wait, spent too much money.I have the sharktooth but it is not installed yet.

Just in case you're looking for a name for this car, Nella thinks Cinderella is a perfect name!! A beautiful car trapped in a peasants rags, now rescued by a prince of a guy and looking just beautiful!

Outstanding transformation Jim, and beautiful work!! It pops.... Really pops!!

Nice lookin car, Jim. You should throw a hot 225 in it 4 speed OD it with 4.10 gears. It would be peppy and still get good mileage with the OD.

Oh I did not put the tail light stripes on yet I want to repaint the tail panel this fall.

Under the hood is all original.I mean factory hoses, fuel pump, water pump etc.I am going to replace the radiator hoses, heater hoses, fuel filter, rubber fuel line, points, coil, plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, water pump, fuel pump, oil and filter, flush the radiator. Then a little brake work and I will be ready to go.

How do manage to find a bargain on a car like that and then turn around and find a sharkstooth grille for a great price too??? I think I want to start hanging around with you!!!

I have a good slant electronic distributor cheap, PM me.
