Finished the welding and installation of a new exhaust system on my 318 '73 Dart last week.
The system consists of a pair of coated Dougs Headers, Summit X-pipe kit, a pair of Borla Pro-XS mufflers and a pair of Flowmaster tailpipes. All mandrell bent and 2.5" in diameter.
The old exhaust was a dual 2-1/4" system with the castiron manifolds and a pair different sized turbo mufflers and tubes with more bends then a GrandPrix circuit.
The sound has definitly changed.
The typical 'stereo' V8-sound has been replaced with a more modern like 'mono' sound. Kinda racey perhaps.
Idle sound is very soft, but increases quickly when the rpms or throttle opening rise.
