Hello, i just found this forum and wanted to say hi. I have a -75 Duster that im restoring in to look like a 1970 modified in 1980. So, it will be high in the rear end, Mag-wheels, velour-interior, L88 hood scoop, red rear axel, white chassie, and other stuff that was popular in late 70s early 80s. The car is rusted so badly that even here in sweden its almost to much (we have alot of rust over here..). But, im poor and it was cheap, 6000 SEK (about 750$) and i brought a 1970 valiant 4-door as a parts car for 1500 SEK (190$). We have alot of us-cars here and ist quite common for a guy in his mid 20s to have a old us car as a hobby. At least in this part of the country.

And when am at it, i might expalne the swedish therm "Raggare"

Raggare is a something that came up in the late 50s. Young pepole how for the first time in swedish history had their own money and wanted some fun. So the guys brought themselves cars, preferably a few years old Us-cars, and most of all, Fords (V8 you know..). And they went out on the towns at night and picked up chicks and listen to the illegal radiosatiton "Radion Nord", wich were the only station who played rocknroll at the time. The word raggare came from taxidrivers who sad that they "raggade" (looking) for customers, but now it was the young guys who "raggade" chicks at the side of the street. Today, everyone who has a us-car older than 30 years are laybeld "raggare". Here is a Clip from a swedish movie from 1979, the typical way how "svensson" or John Does sees us whit us cars:

Anything u wanna know about sweden, just ask! (no, we dont have polarbears, but we have alot of blond girls!)

Welcome! Nice to see people in other countries enjoy muscle cars.

As far as I know.... weren't both sweden and norway nuetral as far as WWII was concerned? I was under the impression that you all had nothing to do with nutcase hitler and had quite a huge underground to try prevent the socialist takeover?

By the way, I have no intention into making this a politcal thread, just curuios... And yes, I hear your women put the rest of the worlds to shame.....lol!

Yes, pics are apprecaited by the dark and swarthy mutts like me.. German, Austrian, Irish and Hungarian.... BWHAAHAHAHAHA!!! I feel like I should be swinging a Battle Axe!!!!! Just kidding around my Swedish friend...

We are all friends here. I'm not kidding though... I do like a good axe or saw, like a Husqavarna. :)

Your video is not working though.... it says "video disabled by request"..

Welcome! Glad to have you here, post pictures of the Duster and the Valiant when you get a chance!
I am partly Swedish, also Austrian and Polish.

Hm, dont now why the link is broken. Try go to youtube and seach for - Barnens Ö stockholms raggare -. Compy and paste, i bet no one here has the letter Ö on their keybord.

In WWII sweden was neutral, but norway was invaded by germany in 1940. My Grandfather was stationed along the swedish/norway border and they had order to shoot at anyting, norwegian and german, who tried to get in to sweden. And they did shoot alot in over the border, but in old records it says that not a single shoot was fired by swedish troops. We also shoot down alot of airplanes that trided to cross sweden in bombraids. Sad to say, there were some allied palnes who went down in flames... But also alot of brittish staioned americans landed and sat out the war as prisoners here. As thansk a thanks from US goverments, we were given all the captured airplanes. So after the war, swedish airforce was 60% captured B17, Mosquitos, Mustangs, etc.

L88 hood scoop
??????????????????
Not a mod ever seen in the 80's here, on a MoPar at least. On the everyday cookie cutter Chevy car........ yep! Like the plauge they were. But not on a moPar.
Today, you see them on Duster sometimes at the track. Rather than a scoop, they'll take pressure off the glass and use the little bit of aero dynamic's to it. Still a rare site on the street.

Welcome aboard.

Well, alot of cars had the L88, scoop over here, ive seen it on Impala -59, Hemi cudas, GTOs, Mustangs etc. There is still a glasfiber company that makes em over here.

I though all you guys drove SAABs:) Just kidding...I'm been to Sweden a few time, and I was surprised how many big american cars I saw.

No Mopars though, that Duster has to be rare over there..

Welcome from Minnesota, enjoy the ride!

Illegal Radio Stations are concept that Americans are gonna learn a great deal about in the next few years.

Okay, is it beacus they grown tired of the 5 sec delay so goverment can censor it? Here in sweden, you can say ANYTING in radio, tv and newspaper but you can get procecuted afterwords if you sais anyting racial or discriminating. Or dispalyed **** in a magazine that can be brought buy minors.
