Do'se any body out there no why my 70 dart/swinger wont stay running unless i hold the key in the start position? when i let go of the key it it stops running.Thank You for any advice, ( my dart misses me)

I wont drive it, If it aint a mopar!

check your ballast resistor....one side is start...the other side is run...

if the resistor is bad..the run side is not getting any voltage..

quick check is to jumper across it...if it runs...that is it...replace it.

another thing to check is the air gap on the pickup coil inside the distributor...should be .008 ..need brass feeler gauge...

If it runs in the start position it's not the reluctor causing this.
It is probably the ballast, but it's possible it's the ignition switch but that's a little more uncommon.

Ballast's are cheap, just change it and I'd bet ya the cost of the new one that is what's gone out.

just put the key in the run position and check voltages on the ballast - should have
~12V on one side - if not, it's ignition switch or wiring to it. I had something similar a
long time ago and the run wire was broken at the connector on the firewall.
