And the detailer is making progress with the wet sanding while this is going on. Final detail should be finished mid next week.

Good lookin duster Matt! Looks like the detail work will get her nice and shiny!

Welcome and nice duster, personally I liked the scoops. Cheers.

Nice Duster.

Now I'm getting a craving for etouffee!

I see ebay listings for LA cars a lot.
Seems to be one city in particular that I can't recal right now.
I'm always scared that they're Katrina flood cars.
How big an issue is that?

If they are Katrina flood cars it will either be very obvious or it was well restored.

The sludge in the flood water pretty much ate all the cars I've seen that went under. My buddy lost a classic vette that he is in the process of restoring. Anything that he had used POR-15 on came out fine. All it needed was a washing. Anything not coated needed replacement.

Installed the grill at lunch.

It needs some minor adjustment, but overall I'm pleased.

Just made it back from Cruisin' the Coast. The Duster performed flawlessly. It was cool not seeing 100 other cars like the one I was driving like the Chevelle guys. I only saw 2 other Dusters. One was gold with the Twister graphics package. I'm not sure if the owner is a member or not though.

Here are the latest pics. Detailed and Tint.

On the trailer the day before. No scoop or emblems.

I finished the badges the night before. Received them from a member here and blacked them out.

Does look better than the day you got it home, what about the tint is it lea gel were your at.

No, but cops usually don't hassle you around here unless they need a reason to check you out. Mid 30s white guy driving a classic car gets a pass more often than not. I had a tint exemption for a while and never renewed it for lack of need. The tint on the windshield helps me drive at night by cutting the glare.

15% all the way around. 50% on the windshield.

how would they know your a mid 30s white guy with all that tint though?

personally im not a big fan of the tint but its a great looking duster anyway
(really like that grille, to me it looks much cleaner then the shark tooth)

Looks good. Im not a fan of tinted windows on old cars myself and I own a detail/tint shop. Is the car base/clear ? He may not be able to get all the peel out or may just be scared to go further not wanting to burn through the clear.

It's base and clear. I talked with him about it. It's likely about as good as its going to be until its repainted. The prep work was absolute junk and the paint and clear were done with the same care. For it to look as good as it does with a detail I'm satisfied. It moves repaint from top 5 on the list to final step after everything else is done.

I'm going to drop it off to him so he can continue to work on touch up paint.

Yeah the peal is probably from not blocking out the primer enough or a rough coat of sealer.

I took a look at his facebook page. Looks like he does nice work. I would kill to work on the Hemi Dart !

Mocked up wheels last night.

The rear is going to require a spacer and the front required a little machine work on the wheels to clear the rotor. Ordering 255/50-17 all the way around today.

Not even gonna try to get into how many trips to the auto parts store and sourcing parts online this took me.

17x8 with 245/45 rubber Wheels were stockers off my 2003 mustang.

To each there own . But IMHO I thank the centerline wheels looked 10 times better . The tourq thrust look like the fronts are wider than the rears . I know there not its the wheel trac on the dusters the rear is narrower than the front . I would say sale the mustang wheels and buy a nice wing for the rear deck lid . Love the color of the car and the tinted windows really complete the look . Remember just my opinion .

Looks good Matt, I like the look of those type of wheels on a Duster but I am kind of bias cause.....
By the way, that is J-Millers Demon beside my Duster in pic 3.
