I found this Kettler on the side of the road while going to get a belt for my truvk and had to grab it. I wanna put a motor on it. Anyone have any experience with Go karts?
Hey DarTT that is a pedal car. My neighbors son had one. You put any engine on there and it asking to come apart on ya.
Heh. Too bad i weigh 105#. What if i reinforce it? I really have been wanting to build a lil crazy go kart
Go buy some steel and look up plans on the net.

Okay. That sound like some wicked fun right there. I am definitfly gonna do that. But i wanna make this cart work as well lolSee my above response for a crazy go-kart. Pick up a small Go-Kart (I highly recommend a completely caged version, trust me on this). And grab an older Large CC motorcycle out of whatever local classifieds papers you may have in your area.
I happened to have a GS750 4-Cylinder motorcycle laying around, so that's what I put on my go-kart. Set it up with a Floor Shifter, Single Seater, and Disc Brakes. Had that little SOB up to 75+mph in the forestrayer: And in a Go-Kart, 75mph feels like 975mph when you're inches from the ground and trees are whizzing by you.
That wasn't enough. I also took a small Suzuki 125 Quadrunner (after the 125 and the 185 replacement engine both dropped valves) and put a modified Honda 250 SX engine on it. The critter would burn the tires in a 3rd gear launch, 1st and 2nd are scary. It'll pull the front wheels until about 3rd gear.
That wasn't enough either. I took an even smaller Honda 125 ATV and shoe-horned a CB350 2-Cylinder Engine in the frame.
I agree on the weedeater engine. I had a friend in high school who was one year ahead of me and for his senior project he put a weedeater motor on a bycycle and it worked! My senior year, me and my buddy were asked to judge the carshow for the bandboosters.or you could use a weed wacker engine, that I have seen done before too, they have quite a bit of power for there size and they should have a centrifical clutch already on too.

We picked his bike for the trophy over two beautiful Honda motorcycles. We weren't biased. We justified, you can go buy a Honda motorcycle, but you have to have skill and enginuity to create what he did.
He didn't use one I don't think, I believe he had a rubber roller in direct contact with the back wheel. Let me see if he has pics of it on FaceBook.Hmm. What kind of sprocket did he use? Im really interested in doing this for chuckles.. Id have to figure out a braking system as well.
