New to A bodies

hi everyone, new to A bodies, always been a GM guy, my son is now but I'm looking to jump into a A body, looking at a 71 scamp, and I have a ton of questions being new to these so please be patient if I ask something stupid , other than growing up in my dads Mobil station and working on all cars I really never did a lot with mopars, other than the regular repairs.
