Im giving up energy drinks. I find myself (3-4 times a week) hurting after I come down...like hung over and dehydrated. So I'm also going to drink only water at lunch and at work (except 1 morning coffee). Also made a pledge to finish 1 motor this year. I got 3 I have been building for the last 2 years.

ditch the slant six car and return to daily driving a big block A-body again like I did before my 440 powered 72 swinger suffered some issues.

get rid of the diet mountain dew addiction

workout more to get stronger........feel the torque RAAAAAAA

Learn Italian

Perché Italiano? :D

Pepperoni pizza and Peroni beer. Now "That's Italian!"

Be more receptive to people, and their concepts/ views....

I'm going to commit myself...

To my own business, more, this year.

I did surprisingly well at the trade show that I had a booth at, last year, which has given me some confidence and I feel like if I can make something like that work really well with last-minute achievements, I can do even better if I can commit myself to working on and producing at least one or two things, this year, until I can go into higher production, when my garage is built.

I would love to at least get a good start on my garage this year, but I feel like adding income takes priority, for that to happen and keep moving with it.

When I do get to building it, I will most definitely take pictures and start up a thread.

My last year's resolution that was mostly silent, was to take control over my finances and credit. This lead to my business, building and owning (but not yet launching) a website for it, getting a new job and buying a house. I didn't see any of that coming from simply committing to one thing until I had substantial results.

I've never had luck with resolutions until I realized how result oriented each one of them is.

so I have to ask...do any of you guys take this serious?

normally I wouldn't question your resolve or integrity....but I couldn't help notice where this is posted ;)

Generally speaking, I think most people see that a new years resolution is a setup for failure, which I'm guessing is why it is in this forum.

I never thought much of them, until I had some success with it, last year. The key is to acknowledge your results and try every day to at least plan a time and day that you will take some form of action, if its not something you can do that day.

At least, that's what has kept me from feeling like a failure. lol

I make goals. This year some of my goals are to run 600 miles, do 4 half marathons, save at least $50.00 each paycheck. Keep a neater garage. Cut back on the sodas. Visit more Civil War battlefields. Eat better...
For me, making obtainable goals keeps me to what I set the previous year.
Good luck with yours

Im serious. I quite Diet coke 2 years ago, still off it. I quite soda years ago and did it, it was a real challenge for me. Making goals keeps me motivated. Id like to see that "big *** hole" in that hood too, would make a great conversation piece! :-)

aw snap, I just seen one!

I think I will set some attainable goals:

Obtain more dysfunctional Mopars.
Obtain more Mopar parts that I don't need.
Sit on my *** more.
Smoke two packs a day.
Drink lots of coffee.

There, those should be easy resolutions to keep, lol.

NICE!!! I like it all except the smoking.

but more mopar cars (especially rollers) and parts will make any year a time to remember.

I often don't remember my friend's birthdays but I can tell you the dates I acquired my car on. O:)

I started smoking when I was a dumb 12 year old, and by the time I was 16, I averaged 2 packs a day. I been telling myself I'm gonna quit for several years now, but I never do. So now at 42, I decided to quit telling myself that I'm gonna quit.

As for remembering dates, I remember life events based on the car I was driving at the time.

I am going to make one but it is not focused. I am simply going to be a better person. Whatever that ends up being.

I will be 62 this year. I have a rough estimate of what I will be able to draw from SS, and investments, should I retire. My focus is going to be on trimming my expenses, to the point that I can comfortably live on that amount. I have started by giving up smoking. That should save me about $150 a month. Probably going to ditch the satellite dish also. I for sure do not watch a $100 worth of TV a month.

I don't know who your talking about but in my books your ok. When you used to be a resident of the chat room and would share car knowledge, those were great times.
