Hello everyone and i apologize in advance for my ignorance....
I have my dad's old 65 Barracuda and am looking to rebuild and improve the suspension into something which handles well and is fun to drive. My wife said i had to sell the fish or the porsche, and the porsche went. So its time to fix up the old A body. My knowledge has been limited to McPherson strut suspensions in the past so TB and Leaf springs are new to me.
I suppose id like to start with Shocks. I have always had Koni's in everything i drove for the last 15 years. I hear they are discontinued so unless i can find some used ones i need advice.
I have been reading and the top choices seem to be Edelbrock, Bilstein, or QA1.
As for the rest any advice is appreciated. I know i will need to replace some bushings so i may as well do it all at once. Poly or rubber????
I dont want to do any irreversible mods to the car so i suppose the only sway bar choice is a front unit. All the rears i researched required welding or drilling into the unibody.
Will i benefit from replacing the torsion bars? I planned on replacing the leaf springs and shackles with stock replacement Mopar performance units.
Again and advice would be appreciated. Again i am ignorant so school me.
If anyone has used Koni's ill buy them!
