Hey y'all
Just got my slant running off an auxiliary tank, i then tried to get gas from the actual tank in the rear and the pump isn't sucking it up theirs about 2 gallons in the tank. I would think that would be enough or no? or do i drop the tank… its a 65 dart, thank you guys

More info............?

Has the car been sitting? Did this just happen?

"Lots of" (simple) stuff "in there

Bad pump, read the shop manuals............

There's a procedure in there to test the pump for "suckage" with a vacuum gauge, as well as "estimates" on fuel volume, IE pumping into a measure for a timed period

From rear to front................

Not enough gas or car not level, or damage to tank and pickup tube causing it to be up out of the fuel

Gummed up fuel or fuel strainer on the tank pickup

Bad suction hose between tank and line, and between line and pump inlet

Plugged, gummy, or pinhole leads in the metal fuel line

As mentioned, bad pump

"Something" in the engine not activating the pump, worn, broken parts, etc

plugged filter up front

If you haven't checked fuel pressure, might be problems right in the carb, sticking float / needle seat/ etc

my friend told me that all the lines were good, and i believed him, upon further inspection the rubber line going from the pickup on the tank to the line going towards the front had a splice in the top replaced the hose, turned the motor until clean fuel came through and now were back in business. thank you very much

I think he meant to say a 'split in the top' of the hose to the tank...perhaps using an iPhone with the auto-speller...
