I spent a winter in the late '80's working backup/nights/on-call for a towing company that did vehicle recovery on the lakes. Never did it myself, but I was on-site a couple times, and I gotta say, those divers earn their pay, that's for sure!

Also, there are some lakes in mid-MN that are old, abandoned mines, and every now and then I'll run across a picture of a diver sitting on an old, antique snowmobile, or in the cab (or what's left of it) of an old truck, when I stop-in somewhere up there.
