I haven't read every post, have you looked down the distributor hole? If you didn't see it then your next best thing to do is take off the intake manifold as it's probably laying in the lifter valley. I don't think that it went passed the camshaft
I call bullshit on "I haven't read every post".
You somehow missed post 6, 8 & 13 which were referencing looking down the hole or pulling the intake but did read Post 16 and could reply to that?

So because you "haven't read every post" you can just repeat some advice that others have given and make the thread about you again? Cool.

There Must be a KIA Optima Forum or a Chevy Cruze Forum that you could join.
I'm pretty sure that you could be a Top Contributor over there.

i find myself going to my tool cab' and not remembering what i wanted, i have to go back to the job to see what it was. getting old sucks
neil.
We had a magic door like that a job i worked at. You have something you need to get in the composites room, walk through those plastic air curtains, and your brain loses it.

With me it was climb down off a ladder/scaffold/sizzorlift, after getting a measurement and someone starts talking to me, then forget measurement, dammit:mad:

No, thats what I’d do. Or have it fall off and I pick it up and set it in some stupid place thinking I’ll know EXACTLY where it is.

And then I spend hours looking for it.

I did it yesterday. I have my gearbox apart. I took first gear off the main shaft and left second on there.

I started putting it back together and I'mo telling you I looked for over 45 minutes for that stupid second gear. I looked everywhere. I even got ahold of @MOPARMAGA to ask him if he saw where I set the damn thing because he was here when it came apart.

Finally I said screw it, I'm heading in for lunch and I look at the main shaft and there’s 2 gears on it! First gear is in my hand and the the input is still in the main housing.

I punched out, went to lunch and took the rest of the day off.

That’s a regular deal around this place.

In the same vein, I once had a B1 intake and 8 efi bungs. I took one from the packge and sat it in the top tray of the 'electrical' tool box (just a handyman tool box with a removable top tray). It was lunchtime and I was starvin like Marvin so I closed up the tool box and set it aside. Came back to work and put the electrical tool box away. A few months later I sold the intake and bungs but only had the 7. I looked high & low for that missing bung with no luck. A year later I pulled out the e-tool box and when I saw the bung I immediately remembered putting it there. As Homer Simpson would say, "Doh!"
