Not an A body issue - 2006 Grand Caravan 3.3 EGR Valve

So 2 years ago at 98000 miles the OE egr valve threw a P0404 code.

I bought a BWD replacement (EGR1582)

1 year and 6600 miles later it went bad.
1 year 8 months later and 14600 miles it went bad.

It is an electronically controlled and monitored EGR valve. I did all the typical disconnect / reconnect the connector, clear the codes, they come right back, wiggle the wires no change.

Replace the EGR valve and no more codes (for a year or so)

I would try a different manufacturer but this one has a lifetime warranty and I can replace it in 20 minutes

The joke online is BWD stands for "broke when delivered" I'd try a OEM part instead

Try an OEM one maybe it will last longer. But we used to hang a **** load of them at the dealership when those were still under warranty.
