Oddball idea for a dual-snorkel scoop...

Just wanted to get a few opinions on an idea that came to me a couple days ago. I've got a dual-snorkel scoop that I'm planning on putting on my 68 Dart, and was thinking that it would look really different if I were to mount a set of butterflies in the scoop opening that would be linked to the throttle, like you see on roots-type supercharger scoops. What do you guys think...good? bad? ugly? Of course the linkage would get hidden inside the scoop for aesthetic reasons, and the aluminum would likely get a flat black treatment to match what I've got planned for the hood. Again, not planning on serious butchery, but just one of those odd touches to make things stand out a bit.

Something I always thought of if I had any scoop. But I would have it cable or vacume operated , so it could be sealed if caught in the rain:-D

I was thinking cable-operated. I wonder just how much water it'd take in if being driven in the rain.

I would use a cheaper scoop than the dual snorkle(around $300)maybe a different one?Sounds like a neet idea,but I wouldn,t use an original snorkle scoop.My 2 cents.

Well, I do have the dual-snorkel scoop on hand, it is original, although it has been previously damaged, and repaired at least once. I wouldn't think of doing something like this with a pristine scoop...nor would I think of cutting a gaping hole in the hood of a pristine car.
