I am curious, how often do you change the oil in your slant? I have the 66 dart with a recently rebuilt Slant 6. I probably put 200 miles a month on it.

My daily driver has been in continuous use since 1964 (bought from original family)
Original 170, well over a million miles on it.
I put 30,000+ miles on in a year.
Had it 4 years..120,000 miles. One oil change in all that time. No leaks, no smoke, six good cylinders.
Waiting for it to die so I can drop in a 225. Dont look like that's gonna happen anytime soon
You can't make stuff like this up.Are kidding us,..really? If this is true,..that's incredible.
You can't make stuff like this up.
In that four years, 2 sets of points, one set of plugs and wires.
A belt, a water pump, a couple sets of brakes and axle bearings.
They just dont make em like that anymore

Chrysler said:The optimum engine oil change period will vary widely depending upon the type of operation, weather conditions, and other operating variables. For instance, during short trip driving in cold weather or driving on dusty roads, oil changes should be made as frequently as every 500 miles. Cross-country driving with good oils will permit 4,000 miles of operation between changes. As a general rule, however, it is recommended that the engine oil be changed approximately every three month (or 4,000 miles, whichever occurs first).
I have a similar story from 1976.
Well not really similar,at all.
I had to add oil about every 4 hours, so I never gave it an oil change in all the time I owned that 65 long-roof, lol.
