had a brain fart and forgot to install the oil slinger. got the motor back in car and cam run in before i found it on the bench. how important is it. no leaks from seal during cam brake in. cheers

Harder Better Faster Stronger.
You now have coaster for your Beer can. No problem running w/o it installed.
Seems to be the consensus, ^^^^^ I have disassembled to place forgotten slinger.
Has been covered in the past .Forget it and run it.

cool. never done that before. must be a sign of old age. now where was i ?

Limited use car, leave it out.
For something that sees daily traffic and all, you want it in there.
Without the slinger, after a few thousand miles, you'll see an oil film building around the front of the engine. Over time, it can get real gnarly
