Anyone have an idea what the capacity is for this 727 pan? I recently installed it and am having difficulty with achieving the correct fluid level. Also a couple pictures of my first trip out this spring here in Alaska.

That looks pretty deep. 2 quarts over? Are you running a filter extension? Remember check it warm idling is idling in neutral.

Fill it till the dipstick says full. Doesn't matter if it's ten feet deep, that has zero effect on the dipstick.

That looks like the extra 2 qt pan I have.

That sucker is deep. It’s either 4 quart or more for a 727, or it was intended for a 518/46R series overdrive with 2.5-3 quarts over stock. But like RustyRatRod said, it does not matter, just fill it until the stock dipstick reads correctly, if it’s a stock correct style dipstick and tube.

Is there and extension in there for the filter? Does not matter for the full, but I am curious.
