Cleaning up the other day I was going through storage and came across my old Marantz receiver. I thought I`d pull it out along with a pair of 2-way Advent speakers and see if it still worked. Both of these come from around the same era, the mid 70`s. I hooked up everything and with a little crackle in the knobs the receiver came to life. I am blown away at how good this set up sounds and the incredible power of it. (Like an old muscle car :-D) 1/4 turn of the volume and this thing is cranking!!! This rig smokes my newer set up without any equalizer or signal processor. With this inspiration I started practicing my guitar again. Here`s a couple quick shots of the monster and my guitar/amp. Gotta get back to playing!

I don´t play any instrument, but I still think the guitarr looks awesome.

Practice for a week and then you can post a vid for us to listen to.8)

Ah cool. This is back when Marantz had real good quality stuff. And the old Advent speakers were a decent set as well. As a Audiophile I can tell you the old gear will blow alot of the "new" gear out of the sound chamber. I know a few people who actively seek the older Marantz stuff along with Harmon Kardon gear and other brands of the like. The Marshal practice amp and the guitar are a nice combo. Just like a bike, if you learned it once you will pick it up quickly if you do it again.

Now dont get me wrong guys I know there is sound equipment today that the old stuff cant stand a chance with, but the old gear will eat your Sony alive.

Want some good stuff ?
