i bought superstock springs for my sons 68 barracuda.the driver side sits a lot lower.
i ordered another passenger side to level it out.
i have monroe load leveler shocks on order which ive seen some of you guys use here on the forum and i have tall shackles too.
its also just had the spring relocation done and my 8 3/4 rear has been narrowed 3 in per side.
i drilled a new hole 1 inch back in the front hangar to center the wheel better in the wheel opening too.
my mock up wheels and tires fit 31 x 12 but these are smaller than the 33s we want to run.
the tires we want to run are going to need some trimming on the front and rear of the wheelwells.
my friend who does bodywork says the best and easiest way is to mark where it needs to be cut and cut right down that line then hammer the part thats the problem underneeth the part thats staying and tack it.
have any of you done this or have any tips on how to do it?
we will have the height at the top but need to angle the front and back at the botton a bit.
thanks

You're defeating the purpose of Super Stock springs by doing that, but some folks do it. Your car, your taste. Long shackles are one of the worst things you can do on a Mopar. They make the rear suspension unstable, because they make more room between the frame and leaf springs. That gives the springs more leverage to do some nasty things. Like bend the shackles. You need to take those off. The 1" further back thing is ok, but not optimal. Make sure your drive shaft has enough engagement room. I know it's "only an inch" but I've seen it make a difference. For the bad. A 33" tall tire" Time to back half it.

this car will never be forced to "launch"or do anything crazy .
he just wants the look and to be able to cruise it around every now and then.
squeezing the tires inside the wheelwells and lowering it is defeating what we want to do.
our driveshaft will be made locally once its done.

Gotchya. Well see, that's need to know information when you ask for advice. lol

Hope you did your homework on those shocks.
Superstock springs require longer shocks to begin with, and adding long shackles into the mix is going to change things even more.
If you bought stock length shocks, I'll be very surprised if you can even get them on at this point, let alone have enough travel to actually do any "shocking"...

its an old school look build and were using those bolt together shock extenders that i used to use back in the 80s.
when the air shocks wouldnt go high enough for N-50s we put these on to go even higher!

I shortened my rocker 1" and trimmed 1" off my new quarter panel and tin knocked the wheel opening lip. I did 3" inboard with SS springs but put tubs in instead. Yes I know some will dislike shortening the rocker but it's my ride.

you say "old school" and i say "wholly unsafe"

there's ways to get that look and not have crappy dangerous suspension.
