Have an opportunity to get a manual steering column cheap and I was wanting opinions on power steering vs manual on a protouring setup with 18x9 wheels and 360 EFI.

Depends on what you what, and what ratio manual box you're going to run.

I have a 16:1 flaming river manual box in my Duster, with 18x9's and 275/35/18's up front. It's great once you get above ~10mph. Has a great feel too it, not too heavy, very responsive. Below that, well, you'd better have some forearms if you're going to be parallel parking it on a regular basis.

I agree with 72 on the ratio. the standard SLOW manual steering is not what you want. If you go power, though, go to Firm Feel and get their lowest power setup or adjust your pump for less assist. Keep it at 16:1 no matter what.

BUT, I will probably stick with the normal power assist in my Barracuda just because that's what I have.

lets see....

9" wide rim....equals wide tire
small block... equals no room constraints
cheap column consideration.....equals your cost conscious

end result....IMO, go power if your wallet will let you.

I've decided just to stick with my power steering and send the gear box to Steer and Gear.
Thanks for the opinions/suggestions
