paintable sport mirrors

Does anyone know where I could find a set of original style paintable sport mirrors for my dart sport. I have the chrome originals but very pitted. Anybody ever strip the chrome and paint?

People do that all the time. Just sand the chrome. Fill the pits with spot putty bondo. No reason to buy new ones.

FYI..The A-body mirrors have a different pedastal than the E-body mirrors.

I assumed one could sand them down. I see a lot with body color mirrors. What about the mirror glass? Is there a trick to get that out?
