I will be getting my rotating assembly balanced for my 340. I have never done this before but need to do it because I will be using a 318 crank. I was just wondering what parts the machine shop needs to do it properly besides my crank, rods and pistons? Do I need my rings, balancer, and bearings? And what else?

one set of rings for one pistons..one set of rod bearing for one rod....you can take the balancer and flexplate if you want..

make sure you include the spiral locks too

Don't forget the bottom timing chain gear and keyway. Some shops want the flywheel and bolts. Good luck finding a shop that spins the crank in house, most places send them out. I need one done and no longer can find a shop with the equipment.

Yeah, if it's a manual transmission, bring the flywheel and pressure plate. I'd bring the balancer pulley with bolts too, especially if it's one of those early A/C ones.
