Passing gear isn’t working when stepping on the gas

When stepping on the gas it doesn’t go in passing gear? I had two transmission guys checked it out and they said transmission is find. Would this be a kick down cable not set up right? I looked at several YouTube videos and it looks like the kick down cable is right. Thanks

You need more POWER... :poke: I believe a 340 would take car of your problem, better yet build a 416....:D
 
Has the kickdown ever worked? It might be the transmission is an early one and doesn't have the part throttle kickdown assembly on the valve body.

Yea that wasn't until like 71+ 727 transmissions. I just put one in my 904 :)

The kickdown cable is a pain in the *** to set up IMO. The kickdown and throttle cable have to be at a 1 to 1 pull. If you get it incorrect you can fry your transmission

Kickdown and throttle cable should look like this w/ a 1 to 1 pull ratio.
