Up for grabs: an interesting and perfect new (not rebuilt, not "remanufactured", not Chinese knockoff) Carter BBS 4838s carb. Just about the pinnacle of the BBS line; it's got the 3-stage step-up rod and piston, the bypass idle air bleed, the optimized PCV. It's also a seldom-seen manual choke model from the factory, with the correct swivel anchor, long spring-staged lever arm, ramp-type fast idle cam, and cable bracket for easy, clean, non-hacked, good-working manual choke operation. It has a dashpot for non-jerky deceleration in manual-transmission vehicles (can leave it on or remove it on an automatic), and it's equipped to feed vacuum to a thermostatic air cleaner if you have one (cap that port if you don't). It's got an open vent, so no hookup for the ducted/closed carb venting setup on '70-up California vehicles and '71-up 50-state/Canada. Throttle lever is identical to '68-up passenger cars and fully compatible with all '67s, '65-'66 A-body with factory A/C, and '62-'66 B- and C-body. Its original application is '70 Dodge truck and van with 225 engine, so it's got the biggest venturi.

$198 plus the postage from Seattle. PM with the earliest timestamp wins.

Pristine piece. Should be sent to the Smithsonian or cryogenically frozen for future generations. GLWS
