Ok boys, now that I have the dart running, I am looking for some (mostly inexpensive) performance options.. Here is what I have have so far:
318 (not sure of castings yet)
318 Fast Burn heads
Offenhauser Single Plane intake
6-700 CFM carb, havent found the model yet (but I know it is a holley with vac secondaries and an elec choke)
MSD Coil
Accel 8.8mm Wires
727 Trans w/ TCI Shift kit
B&M Ratchet pro shifter
DynoMax headers w/ 2.5inch true dual (no cross over pipe)
Mopar Performance Valve covers and air cleaner (going on this weekend)
8 3/4 Rear w/ heavy duty carrier (not sure about gearing, hopefully find out this weekend when I get her up on the stands)
OK, I think that is about everything I know for sure. Here is what I am looking at in the near future:
Eventually replacing the 318 w/ a 340 (Or a thick wall 318 w/ 4inch bore and crank)
Replacing the transmission w/ a full TCI trans
4.56 gears
But for now, I am looking at what I can add to the 318 that can carry over to the 340, but will give a good performance increase as it sits. I am currently working on the following
Electric fan
Flamming river Manual Stearing Box
Mopar Orange ECU
MSD 6AL w/ remote timing resard (timing retard, just to scare the local when I pull in to the shows)
High Stall Converter (when the trans is replaced)
I am trying to NOT crack open the engine if possible, only becuase I dont want to put a lot of money into this engine, unless, it is feasibly possible to get into 12's with it....without spending the amount of money needed for the 340Becuase I have a "complete 318 w/ truck pan and pickup" I just built sitting here that was going into my 85 ramcharger, but will now be being sold to fund the dart...(hint hint)
