Pets.....

We have 3 dogs and 2 parrots. One of the dogs, Blue, sings to the wife every morning when she gets out of bed. Blue just came running in from outside and started the morning whimper, which is followed by the singing to Ernie. Both of the birds were just telling Blue to shut up. These birds are great mimics. The older one stayed with a friend when we were on vacation once. My buddy had a tenant that smoked and had the smokers cough. Every day, first thing in the morning, the bird now has smokers cough. If we are watching a movie and a siren goes off it sounds like the cops are coming down the driveway. Car alarms, the phone, burps and farts, pretty much anything they hear they repeat.

Sounds like "mocking birds" to me.

Years ago we had a neighbor with a phone ringer outside the house.
Later we had wild a mocking bird that liked to mimic the ring of that phone.
