And I did a hard reset on the phone. So I don't know if that would affect any online storage or not. The contacts are all gone from the phone.

Hey, Rob, before you buy a new phone, check with your carrier and see if they have any of last year’s models that are still brand new. The last time I bought a cell phone I got a brand new one of last year‘s model for 75% off of what a new one would’ve cost.
I had to replace my phone a couple of months ago and the lady at the phone store used an app that transferred the data from one phone to the other with them sitting side-by-side on a table... It took about a half hour...
I see there's an app in my android phone called "Smart Switch" that is used to transfer data... I'm not sure if it came already loaded on my phone or was downloaded... Maybe it will work on your phone to transfer the information when you get the replacement if your old phone powers up...
Years ago, I had Alltel before they got bought out and merged. When I got an upgraded phone, the guy said he could transfer all my data to the new phone for me. Ok. He went to a back room and came back a little while later. He wasn't looking too confident. I looked at my new phone and he said "Those are your phone numbers aren't they?"
Nooooo!!!??? He lost all my contacts and could not get them back.
Another story, years later, with a different phone. My phone locked up and would not turn on. After looking for answers on my pc internet, I got it to reboot but everything was lost. After going through all the steps like setting up a new phone, I was shocked to see everything back on my phone, including contacts and photos I had previously deleted. My Samsung picture gallery was empty but the google photo app, which I had never used, had everything saved.

Yeah... Last time I went thru that best buy all of a sudden told me it's now $100 for them to do that regardless of what phone i buy.
My last few have been Motorola unlocked.
