What are your opinions on using hypereutectic pistons on a street/strip small block using a , let's say a .488"/.490 hydraulic cam My Mopar engine builder once said "don't" ...........the "online" engine builder says they are better than the factory autothermic and forged costs $400 more and are ok for the occasional thrashing as long as you don't add nitrous(eeewwwwww!!!!!!!yucky, that.s a bowtie thing!!!!!) Maybe I'm overthinking my rebuild here???????

Been using them in my 360 since 2013 and rev to 6grand all the time,.480 cam.

Cam details would be good. Don't skimp on them.
I have run hyper slugs for ever without issue. Have made 475 hp.

I've have raced a turbo 2.6L Mitsu on hypers with 14-15 psi boost and had no problems for a coupla thousand flat out race miles. So I did not hesitate to put them in my son's 340 at 10:1 SCR and about the same cam as yours. They can be made lighter and so can be used to take stress off of the rotating assembly.

Thank you for your valuable comments, i appreciate it! i ordered the short block today with the hypereutectic slugs.
