im gathering up parts to switch over to manual steering
I got a pitman arm from advanceauto parts well its too big (splines )

Is the power steering pitman arm different?
the guy said they were the same part # for man. and p.s
the books ive looked at show different #"s though

or to I have to change everything over to 72 and earlier

They were the same through 72. In 73 both input and output shaft sizes began to change.

My 1970 /6 duster had a 1973 stearing linkage put onto it. the only difference was the Idler arm. The Pittman should fit. But it may depend from car to car.

Sometimes you can't go by what the book says because someonetold me that Chrysler used whatever they could to keep cars coming off the assembly line...so you may get????

So I guess I'll have to buy a 72 pitman arm, idler arm and centerlink?
dang, I was hoping the guy screwd up and the ps, and manual arms were different

Yeah all that stuff changed at some point too but I'm not sure when.
They moved the zerks from top to bottom or vise versa.

I agree with that too.

1973 goes into the center link from the top, and 1970 goes in from the bottom..or vice verca.

I'm thinking the m.s and p.s have different sector shaft diameter ( the splined part )
mancini and a couple other places I've looked show different part #"s

whatever I have to do, the pitman arm I got from advance ,the splined part is too big,so I have to take it back

67 -72 bottom
73-76 go through top

i guess my main question should be
are the manual and the ps box share the same pitman arm

You'll need a 68-72 idler arm and a used 67-72 centerlink (slant six or V8 are the SAME) to go with that 67-72 small spline pitman that points up and goes through the bottom.
