Plastic Headliner?

Still learning this car & I just noticed that my 72 has a plastic headliner.

Was that an option or was 72 the 1st year for this type? I've only ever seen the fabric type.

If it is plastic, I am pretty sure it is a recent repop. The original is actually a cardboard material.

Sounds like a repop to me. Only thing used back then was cardboard and cloth.

That's what I thought. I have never seen a plastic one before. Anyway, easy to keep clean.:smile:

I think my 73 is plastic, not 100% but if not it is cardboard. How do you remove both without messing them up?

My 73 had a fiberboard headliner, and it actually gave me a bit more headroom than a cloth one.
