Just wondering what plug gap the MSD users are running on a 360? I got em set to .045 .. thinking about .060 Any thought's without getting into too much detail?

I keep my plugs at 0.035, whether I spray it or not.

.040to .060 is a reasonable range. Remember the beauty of the multi spark is to send multiple burts of electrical energy to ignite all the fuel in the combustion chamber. The more complete the combustion the faster you go.

MSD says the higher the compression - the lower the gap. 10:1 -11:1 should be ±.045 - .050.

Run the widest gap until you feel it missing. If you decide to spray the car, then it definitely must be kept in the .030 - .035 range. You'll probably find that the wider the gap the better idle quality.

I've tried from .035 to .060 and .035 -.040 works best in my engine. MSD 7AL with 12.7:1 compression and Champion C59Y plugs on 110 octane race gas.

I believe with the msd 6 .035 is around the best number....W/ 7AL .045-.060...Just my 2 cents...Lee

Eric_S68,

Would you mind please posting a picture of your MSD setup on your 360? Did you see a noticeable difference on the 360 by moving to an MSD ignition?

65Barracuda

i run them at .040 - 042 in my 360.. an older racer that i respect told me that all anything over that really does is beat up the coil.. i had them at .050 and it ran good but seems to run smoother at .042. the fastest the car has ever been was with them gapped at .042
