Seen these vintage Minnesota Dragway and Twin City Speedway trophies at an antique show last Saturday, I didn’t ask a price but I did see a guy in a Facebook group bought the one from 1969 in my picture and posted it up

Stupid me! I gave away my Minnesota Dragways trophy fender cover when I sold my '50 Buick.

The guy lives in Canada but I see him at "Back to the 50s" once in a while.

Back when a 10 second car on the street was fast.
It is still fast on the street. Yeah there are 9, 8 or whatever sec cars now, but "street" is getting to be a very loose term. A 10 second car that can be driven all over and hooks up on the street will kick a 8-9 second track car on the street most times.

And they were a lot more to handle!

The car ended up running 9.40's at 145 with a BB in it. Car would hook in a sandbox.

Got driven to work a lot back then too.. 14x32's and all. The cops in the area all knew me and never bothered with it as long as I wasn't hanging the hoops leaving a stoplight. :)
