power steering pump. 71 dart

Any idea how much end play i should have in the power steering pump shaft? I have 3/16 + in and out. Is this normal our does it need replaced?

I don't have a definate answer to your question but I have a Remanufactured pump never ran and it has about the same play, I thought I screwed it up when I put on the pulley but I didn't see how that was possible sine it was a bolt on pulley. Hope this helps.
