What's a fair asking price for a a-833 trans.

I have the chance to buy one and I'm hoping
I can get it for 150.00

If it's a non overdrive unit and it's good inside, that's a very good price.
If it's an aluminum 4 speed o/d, it's a fair price if it's good inside.
Make sure it's for an A-Body.....(short tail shaft)

150 in good condition is not enough

Make sure which model you are buying. There's a few different ones. Including a truck transmission that will not fit the A body without major work.
