Is anybody running a pro comp ready to run distributor. i see alot of these popping up on ebay. i was just wondering if they are junk. the price seems to be to good to be true. 85 bucks for the pro comp or 395 for the msd ready to run.

all you need is your stock distributor, MP quick advance springs (If needed) and a chrome box w/proper ballast.

If your car see's alot of street time and lower RPM's with an eye towards a bit of mileage, hook up your distributor to a MSD 6 or 6A box and you are done.

They may be ok but it's a gamble. I'm a little weary of the cheap parts like this. Another thing is what if it dies on you somewhere on the road. Your probably not going to find parts for it at the local auto supply. Where as if you run the stock system chances are very good you can get parts on the road. Like Rumblefish said it's all you need. The stock dist. with the chrome box is a very good ignition system. I also echo his comments on running a multi spark box if mileage is a concern. I've seen posts by guys saying they don't benefit a stock engine but I've installed 2 and they both helped mpg some and they ran smoother at low rpm's.

right now i am running the orange box. my ignition system works just fine. i saw those distributors on ebay and i am in the process of cleaning up my firewall and getting rid of unused wireing and thought it would be nice to get rid of the box and the ballast.

Oh, I hear ya. I do like a clean empty look under the hood.

Sorry I didn't think about that. I was in contact with a guy from Mallory awhile back. He had some interesting options for the MoPars.

I needed his help. There distributor list for the S/B MoPar is gigantic. I had no idea how many types of feakin distributors they had. Amazing!!!
