Isn‘t that the Ford head? I don’t remember the Dodge using that valve arrangement.

Rumor had it a Ford or two would be used in PS for 2023. Unless they figured out how to make them make power under 11,000 RPM I’m not sure they can compete.

You got me buddy. I’ve never even touched a Hemi. Zero interest in them but I do like beating them. Lol

It took me 3 years to build the combo i have right now.
Even if i was given a "FREE" long block, the parts would be obsolete, before i could buy/afford all of then, to make a running eng.

I steal can't believe that is a PS Hemi, and that it would Ever live one pass down the drag strip. It must.......but, my mind just won't except the How.

You can learn a LOT reading that article IF you pay attention and read between the lines. Especially about the reasons why they went to the short decks during the carb era. That matters. Big time.
Agreed. Fascinating stuff!

Pro Stock Engines: What's The Secret To Those Big Power Numbers?

Very interesting read. Most of the big builders already know this stuff. Gives some insight to the parts used in a somewhat current P.S. engine.
Vary good read.
although this is old news, it was all new and vary interesting to me. So THANKS!!

A thought came to mind, as i was reading that artical above( well many but.)
With the Huge cam cores and the vary vary, low Rocker Ratios, in a sence, kinda, sorta, there is less pressure being applied to the cam compared to a 1.5-1.8 rocker ratio..............

It did say at the very end of the article that at one point ratios of 2.5 to 1 were reported. With the larger cores those went down to 1.9. Talked very briefly with Roy Johnson at Brainerd one year. Asked about valve train. This was 2012, their championship run. They were swapping valve springs every other pass. Sometimes every pass.

Reading thru the comments on Alan’s FB page........ it doesn’t sound like that new cam provided the results they were looking for.

I always thought a 3/4 cam was a 750 lift. lol
Yea! Nobody ever did figure out what a 3/4 cam actually was since JC Whitney said it was a marketing thing. Some say 3/4 race. Some say 3/4 street. I say pure magic as they sold a ton of em. Lol!
