Hello Guys,

I'm having some problems with my Hurst V-Matic 2 Shifter.

I have a 904 transmissions new! All rebuild kit TCI.

In mode Drive is perfect! But, in manual shift mode "drag race", sometimes does not engage de first gear, sometimes does not engage third gear.

I manually change the shifter, but is not done in the switch in the transmission. And the carriage remains engaged with the same gear.

I checked the entire assembly, it's all right! I used all parts recommended by HURST.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks,

Diego

Yes, if I'm reading you right. I recently installed my second Pro-Matic II shifter because the reverse light and neutral safety switch went out of the first one causing the starter to engage when the shifter was put into reverse or drive, but that's another story. I went with another Pro-Matic because it was a a pretty good shifter for the price and I already had the brackets and cables run. The new shifter came with a completely redesigned neutral safety/reverse lights switch.

Anyways, I had the same problem with the new shifter. Drive worked fine, but when I ran it up through the gears manually you had to shift twice from second to third. Long story short, the cable needed to be adjusted. I put the shifter in low per the instructions and un-hooked the cable from the shifter arm at the transmission. I twisted the nut three times , effectively lengthening the cable, and put it back into the shifter arm. Took it out for a spin and everything shifted fine.

I recommend doing it while the exhaust is cool to the touch!!

I run the same shifter and had the same problem. Like Brian said adjust the cable again.. It may take a couple of attempts to get it perfect.

Anyway you can send me a pic of the assembled shifter? I can't figure this thing out for the life of me.

Anyway you can send me a pic or post a pic of the assembled shifter? I have the same setup in my 69 Dart Swinger and I can not figure out how to install the cable. Thanks

You don't have the instructions that came with it?

I have the instructions but they aren't clear on how the cable goes through the shifter lever located on the transmission. The picture in the book and on the website are both blurry. I tried 3 different ways to try and route that through the lever and none of them work. It just does not make sense. That is why wanted to see if someone on here that has the same setup could send me a pic of theirs.
