Project Riddler's Ride - 1976 Plymouth Duster

I’m not sure what you mean? There are grills for the snorkel scoops? I’d love to see what you have.

Thanks,

Riddler
No, I took a grille off a 75 dart and cut the center out of it. I'm making a custom grille for mine. but not using the center plastic of the grille.

After mocking up the boards I cut the side boards and false wall out of 1/4 fiberboard.

Then I cut the floor out of 3/4” mdf. Built a nice battery box out of 1x2” pine and covered in 1/4” fiberboard.

The left side of the floor has a cut out for my matching tool box. Used some left over trunk carpet to make it nice.

I think started to cover the trunk panels with foam to give them a softer look and feel.

I then had to choose my finishes. Of course I had to bring my custom interior fabric into the trunk.

Floor is gonna be the laminate flooring.

Finally started to finish the panels. First panel is complete and ready.

Three more panel, battery box and floor left to do.

Thanks for the congrats. I posted a picture on one of Summit Racing facebook picture posts and they loved it and ran with it. I'm hoping to get a feature in a magazine when I'm finally completed the build. Still have some things to finish.

The only thing I technically haven't done is the body work and paint. I was there very often and helped to do some of the work but everything went through me. I really enjoy doing everything myself and trying to get better at every aspect of the job.

Looking great, Joe. DO you actually work or do you just have ZERO time for anything else but car? lol

I work shift work and do 10hr shifts. So I only work 3-5 days a week depending. I also work till 5pm when on days so I can get stuff done before bed. But having 2 kids does keep my attention away. I also own horses so there work doing that as well.

Guess I just work a lot.... I did take a break from the car and did a few things on our camper for this season.

Getting closer everyday. I’ve been told I can try steam to remove the wrinkles. I’ll have to find one and try it.

Next up is the floor. Stay tuned.

I’ve completed most of the trunk. Still want to make some trim pieces and add some led rope lighting hidden under the lip. The floor came out great!

Finally got out to a few shows and put some miles on the car. Working out some bugs.

Fixing a few small things and found a couple of things I want to change. Very small.

I finally got around to changing my ignition cylinder. Hated having a desperate key to start the car.

Decided I wasn’t 100% happy with the trunk. I’m adding trim panels to clean up 3 areas.

The hinges needed something better and fuel filler neck where it meets the floor you could see the edges.

I’m also going to paint where you can see the primer so the entire trunk in complete.
