Proper torque and tightening sequence intakemanifold

Have to install a new intake manifold gasket on my swinger. Looking for info on what to torque the bolts and sequence. It's a eldebrock streetmaster 318 manifold. Also what's the best way to make sure I have zero leaks.I was told to throw away the end gaskets and use rtv only.suggestions?
 
Nevermind. :D

I will say that I like getting to the actual torque in about three steps so that things settle evenly as it get tightened.
(Especially with aluminum)
 
Just got done doing pretty much the same thing, replaced stock heads with 302's. I looked up the torque specs on eddy website, you should be able to find the info there. As for the ends I used a bead of Great Stuff, make sure you degrease the ends of the block.

As for leaks I can't say since I haven't fired it up yet. I also ran a small amount of hi temp RTV around the water ports on the intake side of the gaskets. This was a suggestion I found here. I also put some RTV on any bolts going into water.

Center and work your way around towards the outside..
 

make sure you use some quality gasket cement on the (4) water ports on the intake side gaskets (there's (1) on each gasket end) on both sides of the gasket(s) (eight places) even tho the ones in the rear are deadheaded cuz they are prone to leak (& will over time) especially the front pair if you use the front/rear cork gaskets AND they are too thick (high) for your clearance which you'd check during mockup or just toss em either way even if your height is acceptable & use "the right stuff" gasket maker, pricey but VG stuff. the blue Felpro "Printoseal" side gaskets are good (have a border around each port opening)
 
remove the little dowel pins that are used to line up the stocker
 
Great thanks for the info. Gotta love this site.

Use more than 1/4 inch of sealant or you will be pulling it off again. (Edelbrock instructions say 1/4)
Also watch that front left corner where the block and intake intersect with the heads and you will see the intake has less area covering the dam on the block and you have to be more precise about the sealant there.

Setting it on dry first helps to note these things.
