Pulling on my Johnson

Yeh. I figgggerrrred it was somethun'. On a side note my Dad, RIP, used to be a Johnson mechanic when I was a kid. He worked on lots of others "in our small town"
I don't recall the model, but there was a constant, friendly, rivalry between my Dad's boss and one of the marinas who of course handled Merc. Merc had come out with their infamous twin starter deal. They had no reverse. What you did was, shut down the engine, rotate the throttle / spark advance and it started running in reverse. --- Two stroke, ya know
So the Merc dealer was trynna impress my Father's boss, and "took him for a ride." They came roaring up to the boathouse, and made a big production of reversing, and the damn thing would not restart. It did no real damage, I guess, but it DID try'n stuff the thing through the back of the boathouse!!!!
