Pulling the engine for new freeze plugs

Yep the 273 was made for the steering gear clearance. That totally awesome stuff (if its the same stuff that I used straight) will leach something out of the AL after about 1 hour, looks like its growing hair! The 340 rods as well as the 360 4bbl rods are indeed heavier but you dont need to add expensive weight to the crank, you can drill the rod throws ala 340 crank (right through the rod bearing area) to lighten them to cancel out the heavier rods. That is what PAW did to forged 318 poly cranks to work on 340 motors from their mail order catalog. Dont paint those pretty plugs, just paint around them, they look to cool to cover! Only pressed pistons I ran across were 360, but I dont see alot of post 74 motors.
