for B&M convertor. What needs to be done and can a stock convertor be used after these mods have been performed? Thanks!Bob

You shouldn't need to do any pump modification to run a B&M converter or any other converter for that matter as long as it is made for your trans. Just make sure you get the right converter for your trans. Different years had different input spline counts and 904 converters are different from 727 converters.

Thanks for the info.At one time, and possibly not anymore, the pump needed
modifications to use a B&M convertor.Don't know if it was an internal or external mod.And would it negate the use of a stock unit. The 727 I have has a B&M Holeshot unit;has to be at least 20 years old.Maybe things have changed?Bob

No problem Bob. I'm not sure what that could have been. I started rebuilding torqueflites in 81 when I was a junior in HS and have rebuilt numerous Chrysler and GM tranmissions since. There are quite a few improvement mods. you can do to them but as for one that is specifically related to the B&M converter I don't know. Also note that any of the mods I've known work fine no matter what torque converter your running.

Good to know if I get stuck on switching parts around that you have more experience in this area.I've done a 727 and a 904 myself. One TH400 at school...I'm thinking that the modification was done to maybe a gear in the pump to allow the convertor to fit.Since I have a regular pump and the one that came with the B&M convrtr,I'll compare the two. Thanks again for all the help.Bob
